Bruce Wilmott - Class A PGA Director of Golf
A class "A" member of the PGA of America, Bruce was born and raised in Carnoustie, Scotland, home of the 2007 British Open, within a prominent golfing family. His father Alex is featured in the landmark golf instruction book, "The Search for the Perfect Swing" and his great grand father was head pro at Cruden Bay Links, Scotland, in the late 1800's. After becoming a class "A" member with the British PGA in 1977 he became head pro at Golf De St. Laurent in France before moving back to his homeland to become an instructor at Gleneagles Hotel and Golf Club. Bruce arrived in the U.S. in 1983, becoming the fifth Wilmott to teach on this side of the Atlantic. He has worked with some of the nation's top instructors, including Hank Haney, and credits Hank as being his biggest teaching influence. Formerly Director of Instruction for California Golf Schools, Bruce has been with McInnis Park since it opened in 1993. 415.492.1800 x 1
Tom Carter - Teaching Professional
Tom comes to us from Austin, Texas where he grew up working on his game under the tutelage of Harvey Penick. This set Tom up to be a four year scholarship athlete and captain of the Trinity University Golf Team in San Antonio, Texas.
As an apprentice with PGA of America, Tom has 20 years of golf business experience. Dedicated to raise his level of teaching expertise he spent time with Kevin Kirk, Southern Texas PGA section Teacher of the Year, and Bill Moretti, a Golf Digest Teaching Editor and Director of Golf at the Academy of Golf in Austin, Texas.
Before he left Texas, Tom honed his skills with Hank Haney at the Hank Haney Golf Ranch. Attending Hank's "Teacher Teaches" seminars Tom learned great student/teacher communication skills, direct hands-on techniques to increase the students understanding of swing mechanics, and long-term learning programs. 415.847.0998 / email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Rick Jeffery -PGA Apprentice Professional
Rick Jeffery has been a part of the Marin County / North Bay golf industry for the past fourteen years, having spent time as an Assistant Golf Professional at San Geronimo Golf Course from late 1999 to early 2004, then moving to StoneTree Golf Club in Novato from late 2004 to mid 2008. He passed the PGA of America’s PAT (Playing Ability Test) on the first try in May 2008, and since November 2008 has been one of the PGA Apprentice / Teaching Professionals at McInnis Park Golf Academy in San Rafael.
Rick brings his love of the game of golf to his teaching style, and believes that a good instructor should work together with his/her students to identify the unique keys, which allow them to learn most effectively. “I’m not a big believer in the "one style fits all" golf instruction. My job is to adapt to each students style of learning, and find a way to get my message across in a way that works best for them." To contact Rick about working together to improve your golf game, please either call or text: (415) 608-3438 / email: email@example.com. Be yourself ~ Be your best
I work with all skill levels from expert to beginners.
Identifying a student’s natural pattern of movement is the first thing I do. Certified in Golf Bio-Mechanics I help my players build sound mechanics within their own existing golf swing. Between what you “have” and I “know” we will build your confidence from the range to the course!
There is no one “perfect way” to swing a club but rather a set of fundamental principles. In the last decade technology has changed the way people teach and learn golf. What used to take years to learn can now take weeks because of visual aids and recorded feedback they can refer to anytime! Every lesson, I give, includes a personalized swing assessment complete with my audio coaching. In other words, every one of my students gets to have a “coach in their back pocket!”
