Daniel was an accomplished junior golfer. His biggest honor was playing in the 2007 First Tee Open at Pebble Beach where he finished in the top 10. He then became the Santa Rosa Junior College Team Captain 2008-2009. He made the Big 8 All Conference Team as well as the All Nor Cal Team in 2009. He went on to play for San Jose State in 2010-2012.
Daniel has instructed for over 10 years. Before teaching at Mcinnis Park he worked at the following:
Brooks has been with McInnis for the last ten years and is our newly appointed Head Golf Professional . Born in New York but raised in San Rafael he became an accomplished junior golfer whose playing days ended early after two wrist surgeries. His love of the game brought him to join as a PGA Associate working towards his class A. Brooks works with all ages and levels of players, he is a Callaway Certified Master Club Fitter, and Certified FlightScope Professional utilizing the Xi Tour system.
Nicholas Lovi has been working in the golf industry for over 20 years. After graduating UC Davis, he managed the Pro Shop at Peacock Gap, which inspired him to continue his education and enroll in the Professional Golf Management Program at Arizona State University. While in Arizona, Nick enriched his golf skills and knowledge working as an Assistant Golf Professional at Phoenix Country Club. Upon his return to the Bay Area, he worked at Fairfax’s beloved Meadow Club, before joining the Academy here at McInnis Park Golf Center in 2018. Nick is most passionate about growing the game and helping beginners enter the sport. He’s also not afraid to hit a 3 iron off the tee when his driver isn’t working. He is an active member of the Sonoma Search & Rescue Team and when Nick’s not on the course, you might be able to see him in the sky, working towards his private pilot’s license.
Sara Conti started playing golf as a small child growing up in Southern, California. She played competitively on the Boys Varsity Team in high school and knew she would make a career of golf after volunteering at a Junior Camp in South Pasadena. Sara went on to play Women’s Division II at Sonoma State where she earned her BA. She joined the PGA as an Associate in 2016 and became a Class A Professional in 2020. She has coached both boys and girls high school golf throughout Marin and was most recently an instructor at Peacock Gap. Sara is most passionate about short game. To her, it’s the purest form of the game, but also the most overlooked. When she’s not golfing, you’ll find her baking all sorts of new recipes, and looking forward to the day her young daughter is old enough to lend a (helping) hand.
Kelly Smith started golfing with her dad as a young kid on the East Coast. Like many other talented female golfers, she played High School golf on the Boys Varsity Team. Kelly attended Penn State, majored in Recreation Park Management and completed the PGA accredited Professional Golf Management program. After college, she spent 10 years coaching in the DC area, and then moved to Northern California to be closer to family and golf year round. In 2015, she joined Richmond Country Club and began coaching Redwood High Girls golf. Prior to joining McInnis, she was the Head Professional at Discovery Bay Country Club. Kelly is a PGA certified professional who enjoys coaching the absolute beginner to someone simply looking to add some yards or subtract some strokes. Kelly loves her social bocce league, routing for her alma mater and spending time with her family.
